We are pleased to invite you and your colleagues to attend the American Bar Association Section of Business Law’s Business Card Networking Reception on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel in Ballroom East, Ballroom Level.  The Reception, hosted by the Committee on Diversity, is part of the Section’s 2007 Spring Meeting, which will be held in Washington, DC, March 14-18.  The reception is FREE and cosponsored by the Section’s Committee on Corporate Counsel, the Young Lawyer Forum and the Ad Hoc Committee on Career Forums.

The Reception welcomes everyone who shares the vision of the Committee on Diversity and is interested in recruiting and retaining lawyers of color, women lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender lawyers, young lawyers and law students for active involvement in the Section. You will also learn how to navigate the Spring Meeting and the vast array of the Section's resources and meet experts in your field. Or, you can just come to network and reacquaint with old friends and colleagues.  We also encourage you not to miss this outstanding opportunity to learn more about what the ABA Section of Business Law has to offer you and your colleagues.  With its more than 80 continuing legal education programs covering cutting-edge developments in all aspects of business law, the Spring Meeting offers the latest business law developments and an entire year’s worth of CLE requirements in just four days.

If you are unable to take advantage of the Meeting, but would like to attend the Reception, you are welcome to do so.  The food and company are excellent and there is no charge!  We hope you will be able to attend and encourage your colleagues to attend.

If this is your first time to the Spring Meeting, please register using the First Timers rate.  To help you get the most out of Spring Meeting, the Committee on Diversity’s Women's Business Law Network has recruited active members of the Section to serve as "Spring Meeting Hosts" for first time meeting attendees. Your Spring Meeting Host will help introduce you to the Section of Business Law and all it offers.  Most importantly, your Host will give you the opportunity to become familiar with the work of the various committees and meet people who share your interests.  Just indicate on the enclosed form that you wish to have a host for the meeting, and you will be contacted by your host prior to the meeting.  To find additional details and highlights of the Spring Meeting as well as registration and host information for first time attendees, please visit the Spring Meeting Web site.

Registrants of the Spring Meeting are invited to join us for cocktails and appetizers at the Section’s Welcome Reception, Thursday, March 15, 2007, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., where representatives from over 50 Section committees will be on hand to introduce their committees.  This is a great opportunity to talk with committee leaders, discuss upcoming projects and network with other Section members.  As a registrant, you may also take advantage of the rest of the Section’s Spring Meeting events and programs with other leading professionals who share your interests and concerns.

Our active Committee on Diversity will also be meeting during the Spring Meeting as follows:
